Madrone Trees Shower

Here’s a custom tile mural that’s a good example of what I’d consider my dream kind of job. These madrone trees are some of the most beautiful trees in the Pacific Northwest and a real treat to paint, especially really large, like on these 12” x 24” tiles. Most people set those large shower tiles horizontally, but these folks chose to set them vertically. They also let me come to photograph this tile mural before they installed the glass wall and doors, as that would have made this almost impossible to photograph. It was hard enough as it was. This tile mural is also a good example of the often long time lag between when I paint a tile mural and when I get to post the finished installation. I took a deposit on this job at the 2022 Seattle Home Show, painted the tiles in late 2023, did a few more in mid-2024 because of layout changes, and finally got to shoot it last week.
