More Maripili tiles
About a month ago I posted pictures of the signs I made for a new restaurant opening soon in Seattle, Maripili Tapas Bar. I just finished these additional 12’ x 12” tiles for them.
Castle Geffen
This was an easy one. The client supplied me with a picture of this castle in Holland, Castle Geffen. I didn’t have to change the proportions or anything.
Mt. Rainier/ Reflection Lake
This one is going into a niche in a wall. Back in 1994, I did 5 tile murals for this couple and they’ve just sold that house and moved into a condo. Unlike almost every mural I’m doing these days, this one is not china paint.
Opening
MariPili Tapas Bar sign
These two pieces will be the outdoor sign, front and back, for a new restaurant opening in the next few months on Capital Hill in Seattle. It will be in the Cafe Presse space, near Seattle U.
Hawaiian Sunset
This photo just came to me from the client. It’s about 8’ tall and 5.5’ wide. The island in the distance is Molokini, so this would be a view from Maui. Lots of tropical flowers and a whale breaching offshore.
Way Out
Annual Holiday Studio Sale
Just a reminder that our open studio sale is coming up this weekend. It will be three days this year to spread people out, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 am - 5 pm each day, at 105 N 200th St. Shoreline WA 98133. Call 206-919-2664 if you need directions or details.
Tropical Sunset
Every once in a while I get a nice BIG one! This is 5.5’ wide and 8’ high. It will cover one whole wall in a bathroom. The vanity will go in front of where the white space is, and there will be a toilet in front of the left side of the wall.
Antique print
This little tile job just went home. It is based on an antique Japanese woodblock print from the client’s collection. It’s on 6'“ x 6” almond tile, done with china paint.
